"These vertiglides are nice blinds & a wonderful alternative to traditional vertical blinds. I ordered them for my new French-door style sliding door that leads out to my deck & they look really nice. However, as some reviewers already mentioned, there are a couple of cons to this particular product: 1. Pricey, especially for the type hardware/materials. I could have purchased similar Hunter Douglas blinds on this site for only a bit more. 2. Installation instructions could be written in a clearer, more comprehendible manner. The instructions are “basic”, with additional information thrown in for different types of installations – which at times, can be confusing. This should definitely be separated in the booklet, or they should just provide you with the type of installation instructions for your ordered product (i.e., right stack install instructions only, if that is what you ordered). Also, the illustrations in the instruction booklet are not very clear photographs, which also makes it confusing, at times. 3. The bottom part of the stack doesn't secure like the top magnet upon closing. So, the bottom part strays from the closed position, leaving a gap. Because the *cheap* plastic pin provided to secure the stack onto the moving glide is pretty much inadequate to hold the weight of the stack (kept falling off b/c it was too heavy)– I ended up drilling a couple of holes to put screws into the moving glide & moving side of the stack. This seemed to help with the gap a bit & makes it feel more secure. There’s still a gap, but I will probably get some sort of magnetic catch to further fix this problem. Overall, this is a nice product, but could use improvement in the materials/hardware.

Room divider to conserve heat
"Problem doorway 31 x 88. Needed to close off to conserve heat. Local blind dealer came out to measure and show samples but didn't follow up with quote or schedule so I went online. Found your site, bought, got in a week and installed myself. Saved 50%. Was really intimidated by instruction book but took my time and they look and work great!"

"We bought a house with a deck off the kitchen. The original owners left us their vertical blinds. I really dislike the look of vertical blinds and the clattering noise they make every time they are opened and closed. One of my clients had bought Hunter Douglas vertiglides for her sliding doors and they looked amazing. I stole her idea but only spent a fraction on these blinds.com version. The quality and look is identical to hers! I am very pleased. My husband and his friends installed them, of course they did not read the instructions so it took them a couple hours and they installed them wrong first. The instructions are overwhelming looking...glad I had some help with that."

"We absolutely LOVE this blind. It is fits perfectly in our sliding glass door, and the wood moulding header is very nice - it looks like crown moulding on the window. The shade pushes completely out of the way when we want the view. It does filter light so the room doesn't go completely dark during the day. And, it really does reduce the cold/heat, which is wonderful were we live. Installation was a little tricky, but is wasn't too bad. This blind is a wonderful great looking option to the *car wash* style door blinds. We would recommend it without hesitation."

"I really like the new vertical cell-shades for my sliding glass door. A little tricky to install, but the finished product is clean, sturdy and provides great insulation.
The only downsides: 1. Pricey. 2. The bottom part of the stack doesn't secure like the top magnet upon closing. So, the bottom part strays a little bit from the closed position, leaving a little bit of a gap. I ordered a mini magnetic catch from an online woodworker to fix this problem. 3. Wish there were more colors to match my Copper color on the horizontal shades. I settled for Mushroom, which isn't the best complimentary color."

"I am very pleased with my recent blind purchase. Only regret, is that I didn't find out about Blinds.com sooner. We just moved into a new construction home, so we will be ordering shutters next, just have to get my husband to measure, so we can order.
