"I absolutly love these blinds. They mount easily and are beautiful. My husband works nights and needs a dark room in the daytime. These blackout blinds do just that. If that was not enough they also keep the room cooler. I also love the top/bottom feature since these are also in our bathroom which neighbors can see into. We pull the top down so there is light in the room but still privacy. We loved these so much we put them in all our bedrooms. "These shades fully block the intense afternoon sun our west-facing nursery receives and they completely darken the room. But when retracted, you can't even tell they're there. I thought I'd need a valance to cover unattractive hardware, but was happy to find that it wasn't necessary at all. We chose the cord-free option and are very pleased!"

"I was unsure about the single cell blinds since our others are double cell but these are GREAT! I wish our other blinds had blackout on them. "We purchased these blinds for the master bedroom that receives a lot of afternoon sun. The shades do a fantastic job of cooling the room. I bet the room is 4-5 degrees cooler now than with just curtains. The only problem we had is with the cordless option. After installing, they do not want to go all the way to down. It took a bit of time messing with them before they went down completely. I'm not too concerned because I'm not bringing them up and down, but if I was I would return them."

"This is our second set of blackout blinds and they do a great job of blocking out the light if you measure correctly and your window frame is straight. They also have some insulation characteristics and are blocking out some of the cold. I installed this set in relatively little time (~ 45 minutes including taking the old blinds down). Once installed, I tested them and the bottom part of the string came out of the casing. It looks like someone forgot to tie it on correctly... other than that, great blinds."

"The blinds arrived within a few days. All parts, instructions etc. were there in the package. Installation was fairly easy though the blinds were a bit challenging getting into the brackets. My biggest disappointment was the noise these made when raising and lowering. I ordered the cellular cordless shades and was surprised at how much noisier they are than the Levolar ones I have elsewhere in the house. They work fine, but just very noisy. It concerns me that whatever friction is causing the noise will eventually wear out the mechanism resulting in me having to replace them prematurely."

"I had been looking for a good quality blind/blackout option for my baby's room. Since the days are getting longer he was starting to wake up before 6am every day.... These blinds really do block out the light and my child is once again sleeping the hours he should be slepping, and of course so am I!! I gave it a 3 star for installation because it did not come with the optional parts that we had requested but my husband was able to use some spare wood and make it work. Overall great product."

"I purchased these for my daughter's room. We live in Alaska and we get the long summer days, which means we go to sleep while the sun is still shining. Her window has the bright Southern exposure so she gets a double dose. These blinds do an excellent job of blocking the light. The only light that gets through is around the edges, which as far as I can tell is unavoidable. Even with that light leakage, the room is still darker than when we used blackout fabric behind regular curtains, so I am pleased. I was a little surprised at the fabric. We are used to the slat-type blinds rather than honeycomb. The fabric was much more like paper than I expected, but maybe that's standard. The lift mechanism is smooth. We ordered the Dogwood color, which I would consider a standard white. These blinds installed really easily and quickly, less than a half our start to finish. I think the instructions may have indicated the wrong screw for installation- we did a shallow mount and used a hex screw in the back hole, rather than the standard phillips head as the instructions said. Both types were included so it was an easy adjustment. One major problem I had with these blinds was the shipping. Because I'm in Alaska (Hawaii will have the same problem) I had to pay for shipping rather than enjoy the free service. However, this shipping didn't appear in the purchase amount and had to be authorized separately. When I got a message about this I called back and left a message authorizing the charge. No one got the message and it was another week before they called me again. Because of this delay, it was nearly a month before I got the blinds. Lesson learned, do not trust voice mail for making sure things happen. Overall, I'm really pleased with the blinds since they block our strong sunlight. And the customer service was pleasant even with the shipping delay. Will most likely order more of these for the other rooms in my house."

"the trouble with darkening blinds fitting inside a window is that the open sides (about 3/8 inch) leave so much light in that there's really no darkening at all. You should offer a product that closes up the sides, allowing the blind to still open and close. Or make the blinds fit better....
I had a hard time fitting the blinds in to the window openings, the mounts (maybe they were the wrong kind) set the blinds about a 1/2 inch from the window, so had to cut all the mounts to fit...lot of work..
I ended up filling the side openings with 3/8 inch weather foam strip to darken the room. NOw I can't really open the blinds...
