Either way, these shadings create a mood that invites you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the good life.Like a blind, these window shadings feature soft, translucent fabric vanes suspended between two sheer fabric layers. When Cape Cod shadings are lowered, the 2 1/2" vanes may be tilted at any angle, from fully open to fully closed. With the vanes open, your view is filtered and softened by the sheer facings. Even when open, the fine voile fabric blocks 60% of the harmful UV rays which can fade your furniture and floors. With the vanes closed for privacy, a gentle light glows through, and then 98% of the UV is blocked. When the shading is raised, the fabric is concealed within the color-coordinated headrail, and you can see out with no obstruction.The Cape Cod Shading operates using a continuous cord loop for safety. Comes complete with mounting brackets and easy-to-follow installation instructions.Shading products from all manufacturers, such as Silhouette* and Nantucket* from Hunter Douglas, have a 3/4" gap on the side of the loop cord, which may create a privacy problem if your window does not have trim, or if you do not have a drapery to cover that space. However, for most people this is not a deterrent to buying shadings. When you measure the height, take the SHORTEST measurement, so the bottom rail can pivot and the vanes can rotate easily.Color shown in picture is Whitewash N1-210.

"We ordered Cape Cod Front Street blinds for our living room. We originally had expensive, insulated drapes. The blinds arrived in perfect condition, installation took only minutes, and the blinds fit perfectly and look great. The room looks much larger now. These blinds do a great job at cutting the harsh sunlight from a southern exposure, but allow enough light in to make the room brighter. We are very satisfied with the speed, quality and service levels associated with this purchase. Thanks!"

"The Cape Cod Front Street (a.k.a. Hunter-Douglas Nantuckets) are an absolute steal, and look great in my living room and dining room. I purchased shadings for 9 windows at a cost of just under $2600, which included the fabric covered headrails. At my local Blinds-to-Go, their competing product, which did not include the fabric covered headrails would have cost me $2800. And I got a ridiculous quote through Costco for Hunter-Douglas Silhouettes for $4700. While the Silhouettes are supposed to be the "Gold Standard" for horizontal shadings, I couldn't justify the price difference. Installation was a breeze, and my wife is thrilled with the results! I will definitely buy fom Blinds.com again!!!"

"We just built a new house that required 29 window treatments. After spending as much on the house that we did, I did not look forward to spending another 18,000 on the windows. Price quoted from local Hunter Douglas dealer. Through Blinds.com I saved over 9,000. I installed them myself and it was so easy. I woudd highly suggest that if you are looking to buy these shades that you go through Blinds.com and do it yourself."

"These blinds are very attractive and catch everyone's attention when they come in the room - whether the vanes are closed or open. They are soft-looking and the cats' fur doesn't stick to them. They are much lighter to lift while installing than duet shades and you definitely need two people for wider windows.
While they're more expensive than duet shades, they're worth it. See the attached pictures"

"I purchased a total of 4 shades - 2 for the dining room (inside mount) and 2 for my bedroom (outside mount). I was really nervous about purchasing such a large dollar amount online and what the final product would look like. "I am very pleased with these shades. I looked at the big name brands locally and ordered from Blinds.com because the cost was less. I was very excited to see that my new blinds were exactly the same quality as what I had seen in the blind stores where I live. If you are somewhat handy and are skilled at hanging window treatments, then you will be able to hang these shades. They have a soft cloth material in your choice of colors, with a wonderful sheer lace netting overlay and a quality neutral felt like material facing the street. Close for complete privacy or open for filtered lighting. Can be raised to expose the entire window as well."

"My wife and our four children live in an beautiful 4000 square foot house with lots of windows, 24 of which need blinds. To make a long story short our builder robbed us of over $150,000 and have been in struggling emotionally and financially trying to build the house for the past three years. My oldest daughter even considered submitting us for extreme home makeover before the show got as big as it is. We now have lived there for almost a year with NOT ONE BLIND on any of the windows. Not in the bathrooms or bedrooms. We have received several quotes for complete blind packages. A local rep for 3day blinds quoted us over six thousand dollars for all the blinds in our house. There is no way my wife and I can afford that after what we have been through. So we ordered one blind from your company to see how the process worked out. We were nervous because of the return policy, but figured we would give it a try. We ordered one for the large window looking into our bathroom, over the tub. A very important blind to have. I received it a few weeks ago and finally hung it up on mothers day while my wife was returning from a trip. It took me a few minutes to understand the directions, but then I had it up in less than 5 minutes. It looked great but I did not tell her that I hung it. As she walked through the bathroom she saw the blind and jumped into my arms, almost crying from joy! She was soooo happy. It made her feel at home and finally safe in the bathroom. I felt the same way, I never thought a blind would make such a difference, but it did. We will soon be ordering blinds for the three bedrooms the kids share, and then move on from there."
